Man charged with Southampton armed robberies
A man has been in court charged in connection with four armed raids on shops in Southampton.
David Parcell appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court charged with armed robbery, attempted robbery, possessing a firearm and assault.
The 41-year-old, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Southampton Crown court on 24 February.
Two women, aged 31 and 23, who were also held were bailed until 13 March.
Police said the charges relate to a robbery at the Best One convenience store in Sholing on Thursday where staff were threatened with a gun before a man ran off with £400.
Three other armed robberies took place that evening at a pizza shop in Deacon Road, The Co-Op on Tickleford Drive in Newtown and a McColls convenience store on Montague Avenue.
