Rubbish dumping part closes M27 motorway near Swanwick
Two lanes of the M27 in Hampshire were closed on Thursday morning after rubbish was thrown on to the motorway.
The contents of a wheelie bin was tipped off Swanwick Lane Bridge in Swanwick at about 01:00 GMT.
The rubbish covered two lanes of the eastbound carriageway which were closed for an hour while it was cleared.
Sgt Wayne Voller of the Fratton Roads Policing Unit said: "This presented the passing drivers with a real danger."
He added: "I myself saw a car and lorry violently swerve to avoid driving through the rubbish.
"There is no doubt that this was done deliberately and we are investigating the incident."
