The jury in the trial of a man accused of murdering a 77-year-old woman in her Hampshire home has entered its third day of deliberations.

Georgina Edmonds was found stabbed and beaten with a marble rolling pin in Brambridge, Eastleigh, in January 2008.

Matthew Hamlen, 33, of Bishopstoke, has denied murder, during the trial at Winchester Crown Court.

The court heard Mrs Edmonds was tortured for her bank card Pin. The jury went out on Wednesday.

The court was told Mrs Edmonds was stabbed several times with a knife by her killer and hit over the head with a rolling pin. Her body was found in the kitchen.
