Men and woman bailed over legs break Portchester attack

Five men arrested in connection with an attack on a man in Hampshire which left the victim with multiple fractures to his legs, have been released on bail.

Police said the 37-year-old man was assaulted outside the Portsdown Inn, near Portchester, early on Sunday.

Five men aged 20, 23, 33, 40 and 55 have been released on bail, pending further inquiries, until March.

A sixth person, a woman aged in her 40s also arrested in connection with the attack, was bailed until March.

The victim, from the Portsmouth area, was undergoing surgery at the Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, police said.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
