A man has been charged over a shooting in Southampton.

Officers were called to a Tesco store in Bitterne on Sunday where a 27-year-old man was receiving treatment for a leg wound.

A 25-year-old from Peckham, London, has been charged with causing GBH with intent, and being in possession of a firearm.

He is due to appear before Southampton Magistrates Court on Saturday. Seven people in total have been arrested.

Hampshire Constabulary said a stolen getaway car used during the shooting has been recovered.
