Youth arrested after couple killed in Hampshire crash

A teenager has been arrested after a motorcyclist and his passenger were killed in a crash in Hampshire.

Julian Farley, 25, and his partner Jessica Ellis, 23, both of Tudor Crescent, Portsmouth, were killed in the crash on Saturday evening.

A 17-year-old Alton youth was held on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and bailed until 3 May.

Officers said the Triumph motorcycle crashed on the A339 between Basingstoke and Alton at about 18:30 GMT.

Police said Mr Farley lost control of the bike before hitting a sign after a Nissan Micra travelling in front of it tried to overtake a blue car.

The couple were declared dead at the scene.

No one else was hurt in the collision.
