Second man in court over Southampton leg shooting

A second man has appeared in court in connection with a shooting in Southampton.

Police were called to a Tesco store in Bitterne on 19 February where a man was receiving treatment for a leg wound.

Malachi Augustus Francis, 26, of Lympstone Gardens, south east London, appeared before Southampton magistrates earlier.

He is charged with causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm to cause fear of violence.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Southampton Crown Court on 23 April.

Another man had already appeared before magistrates in connection with the incident.

Calvin Lawrence is charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and being in possession of a firearm to cause fear of violence.

The 25-year-old, from Peckham, London, was also remanded to appear at the same court on 23 April.
