Driver sentenced for New Forest death crash

A driver has been handed a suspended sentence for causing the death of a passenger in a crash in the New Forest.

Esther Walters, 17, from Sandleheath, Fordingbridge, died in hospital after the car she was in span out of control in Godshill last June.

Richard Hadler, 19, of Fordingbridge, pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving at an earlier hearing.

Appearing at Southampton Crown Court, Handler was given a 12 month sentence, suspended for two years.
