Raiders stab man in home in front of partner and child

A man was stabbed in front of his girlfriend and their three-year-old child by raiders who forced their way into his home in Southampton.

The victim, 26, received wounds to his face, body and arms when two men burst into his Thornhill home after he answered a knock at his front door.

He received treatment at Southampton hospital following the attack on Sunday night, but has since been discharged.

His girlfriend escaped from the flat with their child and raised the alarm.

Officers arrived at the flat within minutes but the men had already fled.

One of the men is described as black, aged about 25, 6ft, of medium build, with a moustache.

The other attacker is described as white, slightly taller than his accomplice, and was wearing a grey tracksuit.

Police said residents should not fear similar attacks, as the attackers were known to the victim.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact Hampshire Constabulary.
