Waterlooville man in court over death of Simon Warton

A man charged with murder following the death of a father at a party in Hampshire has appeared in court.

Simon Warton, 27, was found with a stab wound in Waterlooville on Thursday after reports of a disturbance.

Sean Thomas Bailey, 28, of Waterlooville, appeared before Portsmouth Magistrates' Court earlier.

He has been remanded in custody until a bail hearing at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday with a preliminary hearing scheduled for 1 May.

A post-mortem examination found Mr Warton died of a stab wound.

Five people arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on bail until 25 July.
