Gosport veterans march to commemorate 30-year anniversary of Falklands

A parade of 250 veterans marched through a Hampshire town to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Falklands War.

Thousands of people also attended a service in Falkland Gardens, Gosport, overlooking Portsmouth harbour.

Gosport councillor Derek Kimber said it had been a "very moving" service.

He said: "A lot of families were very unhappy when their sailors departed from the harbour - unfortunately there were some ships that didn't come back."

During the service a flower was laid for each veteran and civilian who died in the war between Argentina and the United Kingdom.
