A campaign to relaunch an historic D-Day gunboat has started in Portsmouth.

Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust (PNBPT) aims to raise £70,000 to allow MGB 81 to cross the English Channel to mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day in 2014.

Thought to be the last remaining ship of its kind, it provided cover at sea for US troops landing at Omaha beach in Normandy in 1944.

BBC South Today's Roger Finn met Nick Hewitt ,from the PNBPT, to find out more.
