Wife murder accused Rory Morris takes his own life

A man charged with murdering his wife on the Isle of Wight has taken his own life.

Rory Morris had been accused of killing Deborah Morris in Ryde on 25 May.

Police found the body of the 51-year-old after being called to St John's Road, Ryde. She had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Mr Morris, 53, was found in his cell at Winchester Prison on 2 July following a "serious self-harm incident". He died in hospital the following day.

The case at Winchester Crown Court is now closed.
