CCTV has been released after a man was pushed on to live rail tracks at Portsmouth and Southsea rail station.

The victim had tried to break up a fight on the platform between two men on 9 October at around 11:00 BST.

The 46-year-old man, from Chichester, was pushed from the crowded platform on to the rail tracks and narrowly missed the live rail.

British Transport Police are trying to trace a man seen in the footage recorded at the station.

Police said a 29-year-old man from Havant had been punched in the face in what was believed to have been an "unprovoked attack".

The 46-year-old man, who police said had attempted to diffuse the fight, was taken to hospital for treatment to a cut on his head.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the attack or recognises the man pictured.
