Man rescued after Portsmouth harbour fall
A man was rescued after suffering suspected spinal injuries in a 15ft fall from a wall.
About 20 firefighters, paramedics, police and the Solent Coastguard were called to reports the man was stuck in mud near Portsmouth harbour station at The Hard in the early hours.
They found the man, thought to be in his 20s, semi-conscious on hard sand at the shore.
Fire crews used a rope to hoist him to safety before he was taken to hospital.
Dave Stephens, Southsea Blue Watch manager, said: "We brought the patient to safety on a horizontal spinal board and rescue stretcher.
"The ambulance then took the man to hospital. He wasn't fully conscious."
