New Forest crash between ambulance and car leaves man hurt

A man was seriously injured when the car he was driving collided with an ambulance on an emergency call-out in the New Forest.

The driver, aged in his 20s, was travelling between Old Christchurch Road and Everton Road at Everton when the crash happened at about 16:50 GMT.

He was taken to hospital with serious leg and pelvic injuries.

There were no patients in the ambulance at the time. No-one else was injured in the accident on Saturday.

Hampshire Constabulary has appealed for the drivers of two cars who slowed down for the ambulance shortly before the crash to come forward.

Officers also want to hear from the driver of a white van seen in the area at the time of the crash.
