Cocaine with a street value of £6m seized in Portsmouth
Cocaine worth an estimated £6m has been seized from a container of bananas in Hampshire.
Border Force officers discovered about 60kg (132lb) of the class A drug hidden in 50 packages in a refrigerated container from a boat docked at Flathouse Quay in Portsmouth.
The boat had earlier been unloaded from the vessel Star Quality which had sailed from Turbo, Colombia.
No arrests were made following the seizure at about 12:00 GMT on Friday.
Andy Lumb, of the Border Force, said: "This was an excellent detection by our officers as the inside of the container initially appeared not to have been tampered with.
"Our officers are on constant alert to keep drugs, other smuggled goods and illegal persons out of the UK.
"We are determined to prevent this terrible trade which can have such a destructive impact on the lives of so many."
