A body has been found by police searching for a teenager who went missing in the New Forest.

The discovery was made in the national park near Ringwood shortly after 14:30 GMT.

Ross Haughey, 17, has not been seen since Sunday when he left his Abbottswell Road home at Frogham in the New Forest.

The body has yet to be identified, however officers have notified Ross' family.

The teenager, who has suffered from depression, told his parents he was going for a walk but did not return.

Teams of volunteers scoured the area as well as police officers, dogs and the force helicopter.

School friends from The Burgate School and Sixth Form in Fordingbridge set up a Facebook page and also joined the search for Ross.
