Aldershot tree crash driver, 18, dies

An 18-year-old driver died when his car hit a tree in Hampshire.

The collision happened on the A323 Fleet Road between Fleet and Aldershot shortly before 01:00 BST.

The man's Vauxhall Astra, which was travelling east towards Aldershot, left the road and struck a tree. His passenger, a 27-year-old man, was seriously injured.

Police said the driver's family had been informed but formal identification was yet to take place.
