Three people rescued from mud in Hampshire

Three elderly people were rescued by fire crews after getting stuck in mud in two separate incidents in Hampshire.

About 18 firefighters helped pull an elderly couple to safety after they became trapped in mud at Beaulieu near Bishops Dyke at 18:00 BST on Sunday.

Later, 20 firefighters used a ladder to rescue an elderly man who was stuck in mud near Yewtree Road in Hayling Island at about 23:10.

All three people were left in the care of ambulance crews to be assessed.
