A row of terraced houses in Southampton has been wrecked by fire, causing the roof of one property to collapse.

When crews arrived at the three-storey buildings in Salterns Lane, Bursledon, on Monday afternoon, the roof of one of the houses was well alight.

Two of the buildings were badly damaged by fire, while the third suffered smoke damage. No-one was injured.

Crews from six stations were called to tackle the blaze and firefighters remained at the scene into the night.

The fire is believed to have been started accidentally.
