Truck driver bailed over M27 death crash near Southampton

A truck driver arrested in connection with the death of a motorcyclist killed in a crash on the M27 near Southampton has been bailed.

The 50-year-old man from Southampton was held on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop following the collision.

The biker in his 40s from the Havant area died at the scene of the crash, which happened at 06:40 BST yesterday at junction five of the M27 westbound.

Police have appealed for witnesses.

There were long delays as the M27 westbound between junctions seven and five was shut for more than six hours while police examined the scene.
