Southampton man charged with sex attack on girl, 16

A man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in a late-night attack near Southampton Common.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was walking home along Lovers Walk at about 23:40 BST on 20 August when she was attacked.

Nathan Jones, 31, of Howard Road, Southampton, has been charged with sexual assault and remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 24 September.
