Pile of clothes may belong to body found in Southsea
Police investigating the discovery of a man's body on a Hampshire seafront have asked for help to identify a pile of clothes which may have belonged to him.
A dog walker made the discovery near South Parade Pier in Southsea, Portsmouth, at 07:15 GMT on Wednesday.
The described as white and "well nourished" by police, has not yet been identified. Circumstances surrounding his death remain "unexplained".
He is described as 6ft to 6ft 5in, 30- to 50-years-old, with short dark hair.
Det Insp Jeff Huggett said: "We are conducting a number of enquiries to establish the man's identity and how he died.
"We would also be keen to speak to anyone who has seen a pile of clothes or a bag abandoned, these may belong to the man."
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on 1 February.
