An 80-year-old man has denied murdering his wife, who was found dead at their Hampshire home.

Annie Beaver, 81, was discovered by police at a property in Sherfield Avenue in Leigh Park, Havant, on 23 November.

At Winchester Crown Court Peter Beaver pleaded not guilty to murder. He was released on bail to stand trial on 23 June.

The court heard the couple had lived together for 40 years.

Police have refused to reveal the results of a post-mortem examination.
