A303 in Hampshire resurfacing due to start
A major project to completely resurface the A303 begins later, and is expected to take about six weeks.
Work between the A34 at Bullington Cross and Micheldever Station is due to run from 22:00 BST until 9 July.
Guy Watts, Highways Agency project sponsor, said it would provide a "new smoother road surface" and reduce the dangers of skidding.
Resurfacing will take place between 22:00 and 06:00 each night, with work halting at weekends.
Mr Watts added: "This means our infrastructure will continue to support the economy in Hampshire."
The A303 stretches about 100 miles from Hampshire to Devon and is one of the most direct routes between London and the West Country.
