Two teenagers arrested on suspicion of murder, following the death of an 18-year-old man, have been bailed.

Jay Benton was found in cardiac arrest at a property in Frescade Crescent, Basingstoke, on Wednesday afternoon, Hampshire Police said.

He was taken to North Hampshire Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy from Basingstoke, arrested on suspicion of murder, were released on bail until 29 October.

A Home Office pathologist has carried out a post-mortem examination but police are awaiting the results of further forensic tests to establish a cause of death.

Det Insp Ben Chivers said: "Our thoughts are with the family of Jay at this very difficult time.

"The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death continues. We would urge members of the local community to remain calm and to continue to contact police with any information that may assist with our investigation."
