Pedestrian, 82, dies fortnight after Basingstoke crash

An 82-year-old man has died in hospital two weeks after being hit by a car while crossing a road near his home in Basingstoke.

James Jamieson, of Attwood Close, Basingstoke, died at the North Hampshire Hospital on Saturday.

Mr Jamieson, a widower, had been injured early on 29 August as he crossed Worthing Road.

The 51-year-old female car driver was not injured and has provided an account to police.
