Son admits murder of Barbara Hobbis in their Fleet home

A man has admitted murdering his elderly mother at their home in Hampshire.

Geoffrey Hobbis, 58, pleaded guilty at Winchester Crown Court and will be sentenced on 20 October.

His 79-year-old mother Barbara was found at the home they shared in Brookly Gardens in Fleet by police on May 31.

A post-mortem examination was carried out earlier this year but detectives have not revealed how she died.
