A man has been charged with the murder of a 77-year-old woman at her home in Hampshire.

Georgina Edmonds was found dead in the kitchen of the cottage in Brambridge near Winchester, in January 2008.

The widow, who was discovered by her son and a groundsman, had been beaten with her own rolling pin.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was remanded in custody at Winchester Crown Court. He will appear at a date to be decided.
