A man and a woman have appeared in court in connection with the death of a mother of five in the New Forest.

Pennie Davis, 47, was found stabbed in a field near Beaulieu in September. She had been tending to her horses when she was attacked.

Samantha Maclean, 28, and Benjamin Carr, 22, both from the New Forest, appeared at Winchester Crown Court charged with conspiracy to murder.

They were remanded in custody to appear at the same court next month.

Mrs Davis was found dead by her husband Pete at Leygreen Farm on 2 September.

Justin Robertson, 36, of no fixed address, has been charged with Mrs Davis's murder while Leanne Doyle, 24, of Beech Crescent, Hythe, has been charged with assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

All four are due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on 18 December.
