Cash pledged for Brighton Hill roundabout upgrades
A busy roundabout in Basingstoke has been earmarked for upgrades as part of a £35m investment in the town's roads.
The Brighton Hill Roundabout on the A30 is to be improved under funding given by the government to Enterprise M3, a local enterprise partnership.
Work will aim to reduce traffic delays at the roundabout ahead of any potential development in the area.
Basingstoke road schemes have received £35m of funding from the government, via Enterprise M3, and local councils.
Clive Sanders, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council leader, said: "We have always said that we need to have improvements in infrastructure to enable the town to develop."
Enterprise M3 is a partnership between local authorities and businesses which aims to promote economic growth in 14 districts in Hampshire and Surrey.
