Three arrested over death of man in Southampton

Three men have been arrested after a man's body was discovered on a footpath in Southampton.

The 32-year-old man, who police said had no obvious injury, was found dead in Golden Grove on Friday afternoon.

Three men, all in their 40s, are being questioned by police who have not revealed what they are been held on suspicion of.

The death is under investigation and is currently being treated as unexplained, a police spokesman said.

Det Ch Insp Becky Riggs said: "We are very keen to trace two men who were seen near the body outside the flats in Golden Grove shortly before police arrived."

Officers have been conducting house-to-house inquiries in the area and are examining CCTV footage.

Extra police patrols were also being laid on to provide reassurance to residents.
