Man charged after body found in Southampton street

A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a body in Southampton.

Nick Beattie, 32, was found dead on a footpath in Golden Grove, Southampton, on Friday afternoon.

James Russell, 37, of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder and appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court earlier.

He is due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Thursday and has been remanded in custody.

Three other men who were arrested in connection with the death were released without charge.
