Alessandro Filipik crash death: Tributes to killed cyclist

A cyclist who died after being hit by a lorry has been described by his family as "a very special man".

Alessandro Filipik, 63, was struck while cycling on East Park Terrace in Southampton on Wednesday.

The father-of-two was taken to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries but died later.

His family said in a statement he "got on with everyone and adored his two children".

Officers from Hampshire Constabulary are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the collision and have appealed for witnesses.
