Detectives investigating a fatal attack on a 49-year-old man are keen to trace to a woman he may have spoken to in a bar before his death.

Gary Stacey suffered fatal head injuries in Newport on the Isle of Wight on the morning of 14 February.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with his death and is on bail until 1 June.

Police want to find a woman in her 20s who could have spoken to the victim in a Yates's bar before he was assaulted.

The woman is described as being white and quite tall with dark, wavy hair and wearing heavy make-up.

Hampshire Constabulary said she might "have links with local tattoo artists".

Police also want to speak to a man who walked past the Next shop in St James' Street at 03:47.
