A man set fire to a car with a teenager inside the vehicle.

Police said the offender poured petrol on to the victim's car before setting it alight at the Locks Heath shopping centre near Fareham at about 15:45 BST on Sunday.

The 18-year-old victim got out of his vehicle and was not injured.

Hampshire police has arrested a 21-year-old man from Locks Heath on suspicion of committing arson with intent to endanger life.

Detectives said the "isolated" incident would have been seen by many shoppers and they appealed for witnesses to phone Fratton CID.
