Man charged after car set alight at Locks Heath centre with teenager inside

A man has been charged after a car was set on fire with a teenager inside.

Police said petrol was poured onto the victim's vehicle before it was set alight at the Locks Heath shopping centre near Fareham on Sunday.

The 18-year-old victim got out of his vehicle and was not injured.

A 21-year-old man from Locks Heath has been charged with with one count of arson with intent to endanger life. He appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court earlier.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on 15 July.
