The 14-year-old daughter of a man fatally stabbed on the Isle of Wight has paid tribute to her "loving father".

Jolyon Wray, 46, was found at a flat in East Hill Road, Ryde, at about 16:00 BST on Monday with a single wound.

Deborah Napier, 53, of Amazon Close, Basingstoke, has been charged with his murder.

In a statement his daughter Violet said: "I will miss you. I love you forever and always. Taken too soon."

'Never forgotten'

"Dad, you were a good man with a gold heart, funny sense of humour, good painter, hardworking and a loving father."

A family statement said: "Joe was our number one son, big brother to Jub, Corrine and Luke and loving father to Violet.

"Tragically taken away from his family, he will be much missed but never forgotten by all his family and friends."

Ms Napier was remanded in custody by Isle of Wight magistrates and is due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Friday.

Police have urged anyone who was in the area of East Hill Road on Monday afternoon to come forward.
