Three police cars have been damaged during a high-speed chase after a driver failed to stop on the M27.

A Honda Accord crashed into police vehicles at 02:00 GMT, closing the eastbound carriage at Cadnam, Hampshire.

A 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and drink-driving.

A police spokesman said nobody was injured during the collision.

The road will remain closed for the remainder of the morning with diversions in place towards Southampton through Totton.
