A man has been charged with historical child sex offences at a former children's home in Hampshire.

Willy Gillham, 64, who has an address in France, has been charged with 15 counts of indecent assault and other serious sexual offences against young boys during the 1980s, police said.

The charges relate to alleged offences at the former Palmerston House children's home in Botley Road, Romsey.

He has been remanded to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 19 May.

The investigation, which is part of an ongoing review of non-recent child sexual exploitation offences and abuse cases, does not involve any other children's homes or institutions, Hampshire Constabulary said.
