Hagley church roof leaks as lead stolen

Thieves have stolen about £3,000 worth of lead from a church roof in Worcestershire.

The theft only came to light at the weekend when the roof of St Saviour's Church in Park Road, Hagley, began to leak.

West Mercia Police said the lead flashing was probably taken during the last two weeks of July.

The thieves would have needed a lorry or van to take the lead away and police are asking witnesses to contact them.
