A builder has been rescued by firefighters after his back went into spasm at the top of a three-storey building site in Worcester.

An aerial platform was used to bring down the Northfield Construction worker from the new library and history centre site in The Butts at about 1400 BST.

West Mercia Police stopped traffic while the man was lowered to the ground on a spinal board.

The man was taken to hospital to be checked over as a precaution.
