Man arrested on firearms offences after Worcester raid

A man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences after a raid at a house in Worcester.

Officers arrested a man in his 60s after a search at a property in Kilbury Drive on Monday.

Neighbours said nine police vans as well as sniffer dogs and army bomb disposal experts went to the address.

A number of items were seized which are now being assessed. The man has since been released on bail, a spokesman for West Mercia Police said.

"A significant number of items were seized, many of which were historic in nature.

"These items are now being examined but this process will take some time," a police spokesman said.

Inquiries are continuing to see if each of the items were being kept within the correct terms of a firearms licence, the spokesman added.
