Phuket drowning woman's death ruled accidental

A verdict of accidental death has been recorded at the inquest into the death of a Worcestershire woman who drowned in the sea on holiday in Thailand.

Rebecca Callaghan, 21, from Evesham, drowned in the sea off Karon Beach on the island of Phuket on 12 June.

The former Bengeworth First School pupil had been part-way through a three month trip to Thailand.

She was in the water with her boyfriend when she drowned, Worcestershire's Coroner's Court heard on Wednesday.

Correction 24 September 2010: This story has been amended to make it clear that Rebecca Callaghan was in the water at the time of the incident.
