Investigations after fatal crash in Herefordshire

Inquiries are continuing after a crash in which an 18-year-old student was killed in Herefordshire.

The driver was arrested and bailed on suspicion of dangerous driving after his passenger James Fox, from Orleton, died on the A49 on 19 September.

West Mercia Police had said in error that a driver was arrested after a different crash in which Jack Slater Mackenzie, 18, was killed.

No-one has been arrested over that crash, near Kingstone, on 4 September.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said the force needed to clarify that no-one had been arrested over the death of Mr MacKenzie.

"We apologise sincerely for this error and any confusion this may has caused," he said.
