Man arrested following stabbing in Redditch

A man in his 40s has been arrested following a stabbing in Worcestershire.

Emergency service crews were called to Oakenshaw Road in Redditch shortly before midnight on Wednesday.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said when officers arrived they found that "members of the public had restrained a man with a knife".

The man who was stabbed is in a stable condition in hospital. Police said the road would be closed for several hours for investigation work.

Anyone who witnessed the incident was urged to contact the force.
