Evesham party guest dragged to car park and assaulted

A man in his 50s has been seriously hurt in an apparently unprovoked assault on his way home from a party in Worcestershire.

He was attacked at the junction of Bridge Street and Port Street in Evesham, between 2230 BST and midnight on Friday, police said.

Two men, aged between about 35 and 40, dragged him towards a multi-storey car park and assaulted him.

The offenders ran off and the man was left with serious facial injuries.

Pc Chris Bannister, of West Mercia Police, said: "This is a serious and seemingly unprovoked attack on a man who had earlier been celebrating a friend's birthday."
