MP Bill Wiggin investigated over expenses claim
North Herefordshire MP Bill Wiggin is to be investigated over a £5,000 expenses claim, the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner has confirmed.
It follows a complaint submitted to the commissioners office surrounding room hire for constituency surgeries in Leominster in 2007, a spokesman said.
The Conservative MP apologised to the House of Commons last October over a breach of the expenses rules.
He was ordered to repay £4,009 over claims for utility expenses.
He also apologised to the House of Commons.
Mr Wiggin told BBC News his local Conservative Association hired the room in Leominster and he had claimed for the expense on its behalf.
He said he did not "pay any money or get any money" himself.
