Murder inquiry starts in Ross-on-Wye after stab death

A murder inquiry has started after a 30-year-old man found with stab wounds died in hospital.

The wounded man was found by ambulance staff at a home in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, on Saturday evening. Police were then alerted.

The man died shortly afterwards at Hereford County Hospital.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene in Copse Croft Street on suspicion of murder and is being held at Hereford police station.

The dead man's family has been informed, said West Mercia Police.

Det Supt Ivan Powell said on Sunday: "A murder investigation has been launched after an incident in Ross-on-Wye last night after which a man sadly died.

"This was an isolated incident and we are currently questioning one man who is in custody."
